Cannon writing children's poems

Nick Cannon is working on a book of poems for children.

The US TV host - who recently admitted there was trouble in his marriage with Mariah Carey - will unveil his poetry in a collection called Neon Aliens Ate My Homework And Other Poems.

Scholastic announced that it will be published in March 2015.

A ccording to the publisher, Neon Aliens will feature black-and-white illustrations from several street artists and will reflect Nick's desire to combine poetry and hip-hop.

The star - who has three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with Mariah - said in a statement that he has been writing poems and stories since he was eight.

Nick also has a children's book scheduled for October. Roc And Roe's Twelve Days Of Christmas was inspired by his own children.
