Carell unsure about Office stand-in
Steve Carell still doesn't know who will replace him in the US version of The Office.
The Despicable Me star, who has portrayed office manager Michael Scott since 2005, is filming his final series of the American TV show.
"I honestly don't know what [the producers are] going to do - there are various ideas," he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Steve, who made the decision to leave so he can spend more time with his family, weighed in on all the speculation surrounding the soon-to-be vacated role, saying: "It's funny. The producers have, from time to time, thrown names out there to screw people up... They'll just start naming [people] - Colin Powell, I think is going to be the next Michael Scott, and people jump on it and don't see the irony in it at all."
He hopes his replacement will bring something new to the part: "I think it would be in their best interest just to sort of go in a different direction and not try to do the same type of character."
Having filmed 15 of the 22 episodes for his last and seventh season, Steve is feeling emotional.
"It's sort of bittersweet because a lot of these people are my best friends. I feel like it's time for me to move on but it's sad. I'm going to miss everybody a lot," he added.
