Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have shared intimate family photographs taken over the Christmas holiday.

The celebrity couple posted the family album on their Twitter pages, with some of the images showing their 20-month-old twins Monroe and Moroccan opening their presents on Christmas Day.

In the personal snaps, 32-year-old dad Nick is seen dressed as Santa Claus with Mariah wearing matching scarlet pyjamas.

The doting parents also posted links to a website dedicated to their twins along with the hashtag "dem babies", which is the nickname Mariah and Nick have given their children.

The All I Want For Christmas Is You songstress also took time to wish her fans a great festive season, writing to her 8.4 million Twitter followers: "MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Carey-Cannons!! Pictures from our most festive Christmas yet."

The Carey-Cannon clan were spotted taking in the sights of Aspen, Colorado, which is where their snowy retreat was located, last week.

American Idol judge Mariah and America's Got Talent host Nick also posted pictures of luxury gifts for their children, which showed a peek at their lavish lifestyle - although the exact gifts are unknown, Gucci bags featured in the pictures.

Earlier today Nick revealed the family's next trip will be to a location which is the opposite of their snowy mountain getaway.

"Bout to Hop on this Jet to fly across the Equator! Cold to Hot! Aspen to Australia Bring in 2013 right! #familyvacation, (sic)" Nick tweeted.
