Carl Frampton fans Lo Mejor pen song to fire him up for Scott Quigg showdown in Manchester

Ahead of Carl Frampton’s big fight next weekend, a Northern Irish band have released a video of their song dedicated to the boxer.

Lo Mejor released Take It Home (The Jackal) earlier this week to spur Frampton on to success against Scott Quigg in the title unification fight in Manchester on 27 February.

It was written ahead of his first world champion fight against Kiko Martinez but with the upcoming fight, the band decided to record a video.

Lead singer Stevie Horner is originally from the Shore Road where Frampton grew up. The lyrics include lines like “Hailing from the road where I come from, The world is your stage, You're on your way to take it home, Take it home.”

Thousands of fans will watch the Belfast man take on Quigg in the Manchester Arena.

The song also includes the lines Bright lights, big arenas, Thousands flock to see how keen you are, Days are getting long, Summer's coming on, Belfast just produced another.”

The man himself gave the song a thumbs up and shared in on twitter.

The boxer said: “Great song by Shore Rd man and school friend Steven Horner. What a voice too!”
