Caroline Wozniacki leaves Rory McIlroy split woes behind as she hits the beach with the girls
Tennis star hits the decks and beach with her girlfriends
If her heart is broken, she's doing a good job of hiding it. Caroline Wozniacki appears to be wasting no time in moving on following her high-profile split from Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy.
In classic post break-up style, the Danish tennis star is partying with her closest friends, enjoying her new single status and perhaps trying to show her ex-fiance what he is missing.
The former world number one arrived in Miami on Wednesday after an early exit from the French Open. And she has made the most of her free time so far, in a similar public display to that of Rory's childhood sweetheart, Holly Sweeney, after he suddenly ended their relationship in 2011.
Caroline has been photographed out and about with fellow tennis player and best friend Serena Williams, after both sportswomen crashed out of the 2014 French Open Grand Slam earlier than expected. The pair have been snapped with Miami Heat basketball players. And a picture of Caroline looking glamorous behind the decks at a nightclub in the US city reveals she is not a home crying over Holywood's double major-winning golfer.
Another photograph posted online by the 23-year-old is of her enjoying herself on the beach with friends.
McIlroy's decision to end their near three-year relationship, reportedly during a three-minute phone call, has plunged the tennis professional into the spotlight. Caroline's sunny disposition of recent days is in contrast to the strained looked at a Press conference at Roland Garros last week, where she was asked questions about her personal life after her first round defeat to Yanina Wickmayer.
"I am happy to talk about my match but not my personal life," she said.
"I hope you will understand that. I want to thank everyone for their support and sweet messages."
Indeed, she has been inundated with messages of support from her fans, but others have not be so kind.
When Rory won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, just days after breaking off the five-month engagement, commentators attributed the triumph to him being able to concentrate on his career rather than his relationship. Rory is now hoping for a win at the upcoming US Open.
