Casualty star 'never seen in green'

Casualty star Sophia Di Martino has no regrets about hanging up her trademark green paramedic's jacket for the last time.

The actress is leaving the medical drama after two years of playing Polly Emmerson and is not sad to see the back of her character's wardrobe, made up of that trusty uniform and off-the-wall civvies.

The 27-year-old, who's just finished filming her final scenes, said: "Taking that uniform off was quite a moment. I am sick of wearing that green outfit every day."

But she added that she couldn't resist taking some of Polly's off-duty clothes home with her as a souvenir.

She said: "I took this skirt that I chose for Polly which has fried eggs, bacon and sausages on it! I won't wear it, it's just in the wardrobe because she always wore really wacky clothes when she wasn't in her uniform."

The actress is keeping her lips sealed as to the nature of her exit but promised it would be "dramatic" and that it would have something to do with her friendship with bus crash victim Hannah.

She said: "She's drawn to broken vulnerable people, like Alistair. She goes above and beyond what she's supposed to do, but as she's an untrained paramedic, she's playing with fire."

:: Polly Emmerson's exit story begins on Casualty on BBC1 on Saturday, April 23 and continues on Saturday, April 30.
