Celebs excited about royal nuptials

Eric Idle couldn't resist making jokes about the royal wedding

Eric Idle and Sir Ben Kingsley were among the British celebs in Hollywood talking about the excitement surrounding the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Some of our finest exports turned out to celebrate Brit Week at the British Consul General's Residence in Los Angeles where they were bombarded with royal-related questions from the mostly American news crews.

"I'll be getting up and putting a dress on," Monty Python star Eric joked. "I have my wedding dress all chosen, I borrowed it from Michael Palin!"

The comedian teased: "Is there anything to look forward to in becoming a married man? You can be in the wrong all the time, that's a thing he can look forward to."

Sir Ben admitted "Strictly between you and me I won't be getting up to watch it. I will be watching a recording of it definitely and I'm very happy for them, they seem a great couple."

Brothers And Sisters star Matthew Rhys said he understood why people were excited about the big day.

"Everyone loves a wedding because it reinforces romantic notions," he said.

Actress Jacqueline Bissett said Kate Middleton faces "a very hard job".

"I'm sure it'll be easier for [Prince William] than her because she's going to have all the fashion aspect, not easy, I think, being criticised."
