The singer will pick up an honorary award for her late husband in Quebec this weekend.

Celine Dion is keeping her schedule clear for December (16) so she can spend quality time with her children as they mark their first Christmas without their father.

The superstar lost her manager husband, Rene Angelil, in January (16), after a long battle with cancer, a disease which also claimed the life of her brother Daniel two days later.

She took some time off from her Las Vegas residency to grieve the double loss, but returned to the spotlight in May (16) at the Billboard Music Awards, where she was honoured with the Billboard Icon Award.

Celine has continued to keep herself busy with her live shows, but she will reportedly be taking an extended break over the festive holidays to help her three children with Rene cope with his absence.

"She's taking all of December off to spend with the kids," a source tells People.com. "She's still grieving, but she's doing everything she can to keep as happy and as healthy as possible. It's all about the kids."

The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker recently treated her sons Rene-Charles, 15, and birthday boys Eddy and Nelson to a trip to Disneyland in California, and she shared one snap of the smiling family on Instagram on Thursday (27Oct16) as they enjoyed a ride on Pinocchio's Daring Journey.

"Family time in Disneyland for the twins' 6th birthday!" she captioned the photo, in which they all pretended to be scared. She added the hashtags, "#FunTimes #HappiestPlaceonEarth".

The insider says of the mini-vacation: "They are holding their own and trying to make the best of what life's giving them. (The twins) love Disneyland. They went for their last birthday."

Meanwhile, 48-year-old Celine will be heading home to her native Quebec, Canada this weekend (29-30Oct16) to accept a posthumous award on her husband's behalf.

Rene has been named the recipient of an honorary Felix Award by officials at the music and video organisation L’ADISQ, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the city's entertainment industry.

The 38th annual Felix Awards take place on Sunday (30Oct16).
