Channing Tatum loves nicknames
Channing Tatum is all about nicknames and has 25 for his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
The Magic Mike star and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum welcomed their first child Everly into the world at the end of last month.
While he is totally enchanted by her unusual name, the new father already has some plans for other affectionate monikers.
"Jenna just heard [the name Everly]. She's a little fairy, and she hears things in her head. She just heard Everly, and it seemed kind of magical," he smiled to USA Today.
"I like the Everly brothers, but I'm not a freak for them. It seemed perfect. There are so many little nicknames you can give. I'm all about nicknames. I have 25 for Jenna. Everly is going to have an embarrassing amount of them."
Jenna and Channing met on the set of dance movie Step Up in 2006 and married three years later in Malibu, California.
While Hollywood marriages don’t always have a good track record, they’ve managed to make it work by bringing the best out in each other.
"We've been together for eight years, and I don't know how many years that is in Hollywood years. It's like dog years,” he joked.
"[She’s my] other half. I found someone who wants love and a family, exactly like I do. But we're very different people when it comes to it, so it's odd that we link up so well. I probably would not be as out there — especially in the beginning of my career, I would have been just as happy doing a movie a year and living out on a ranch away from people.
“But being with Jenna has made me realise that I want to produce and direct and stay around and with people. It's made me start a career and do the things I would never have done."
Channing’s latest project is White House Down, an action drama that also stars Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The actor hit it off with co-star Jamie and is a particular fan of his pal’s skills as a DJ.
"Whenever Jamie gets on the tables, I feel compelled to put my dancing shoes on. He got on the tables [when we first met] two years ago, and me and my wife ended up dancing all night. We were soaking wet and sweating," he smiled.
