Channing’s multitasking struggle
Channing Tatum says there aren’t “enough hours in the day” for him to be the father he wants to be.
The 34-year-old actor is father to one-year-old daughter Everly with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum. And with his various professional commitments, such as being kept busy on set of the upcoming sequel Magic Mike XXL, Channing admits he finds it tough to balance things out.
"There's not enough hours in the day," he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "I can't schedule my life and give my daughter all the time that I want to give her and also my wife and all the creative stuff. You can't really physically be fully present — mentally, spiritually. And that's my struggle: putting things in perspective and being there for everything."
Channing also hinted he and Jenna will start trying for another baby in the very near future. The actor told the publication that the prospect of adding to their brood was entirely dependent on whether Jenna’s television series The Witches of East End was picked up for a third season. But with the news on Tuesday that the show has been cancelled, it seems having another baby could be happening sooner rather than later.
"I don't think very, very soon," he said, "but it really depends if Jenna's show gets picked up for a third season. Then we would probably wait."
Channing added in the interview that he and Jenna are considering a move away from Hollywood to Ojai, California. But while he is entirely on board, his wife still needs a bit of convincing.
“However, if she agrees, I would be immensely happy. I just love the country,” Channing added.
