Cheryl Cole: Mel B makes me laugh

Cheryl Cole feels like she has never been away from The X Factor judging panel

Cheryl Cole has revealed that Mel B brings a no-nonsense attitude to The X Factor.

The Crazy Stupid Love singer admitted Mel - formerly known as Scary Spice - is just as feisty in person as they joined Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh on the judging panel of the ITV singing show.

"I admit we are very different characters and very different people. But it works. She actually makes me laugh," she told The Sun.

"Sometimes I have to stop myself laughing at her because it's really rude - the contestants think I'm laughing at them."

Cheryl, who performed at the Capital Summertime Ball, continued: "She's quick and she's very direct. A lot of the stuff she says I couldn't bring myself to say. But I love that - it's a good dynamic for the panel."

The 30-year-old is returning to The X Factor panel after a four-year hiatus. It is the first time they have reunited professionally after he dropped her from the US version of the show in 2011.

Cheryl admitted she had initial doubts about returning, saying: " I have to admit that at first I thought, 'Oh God, what is this going to be like?' But it really feels like I haven't been gone."
