Cheryl Cole won't be queen of chat

Cheryl Cole's rep said she is not set to host a chat show

Cheryl Cole is not in line to get her own talk show, it has been confirmed.

The Girls Aloud star and former X Factor judge had apparently been "on the brink" of signing a contract to host a chat show on Sky1, it was reported, but her spokesperson has now denied the rumours.

"This is not true," Cheryl's rep said.

The Daily Star had claimed that her team, including manager Will.i.am, have been trying to persuade her to return to the small screen.

"Sky1 are desperate to get Cheryl to sign up. They've been in talks for a while and believe they will have wrapped up the deal within the next month," a source told the paper.

"They think she could be the UK's Oprah (Winfrey) because of her reputation as the nation's sweetheart... They want the show to be emotional and confessional, not just another run-of-the-mill celebrity show."

Cheryl has been focusing on her music career since she left her judging role on The X Factor USA last summer.

The 29-year-old has also reunited with her Girls Aloud bandmates Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh for a new single, greatest hits album and upcoming 2013 tour.
