Cheryl Cole has revealed Kate Middleton chose to dress up as her to celebrate her hen party.

The Girls Aloud star reveals in her autobiography, Cheryl: My Story, how Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate approached her after the Queen's Jubilee concert this summer and told her that Kate had performed as a tribute act to her, The Metro reports.

Cheryl wrote: "The party in Buckingham Palace afterwards was incredible. Just when I was thinking the day couldn't get any more incredible, Prince William and Kate came over for a chat.

"'Did you know you've got a bit of competition?' Wills said with a cheeky look in his eye. 'From who?'

"Wills looked at Kate and they both started laughing before Kate confessed that she dressed up as me on her hen night, in a body suit and split trousers and sang Fight For This Love.

"She even learned the dance routine and was step perfect by all accounts, as her sister Pippa and brother James also came over and told me all about it.

"'Well, I'm very flattered!' I said. I could just imagine her and it was so surreal."

The 29-year-old singer also recalls her first meeting with Prince Harry, 28, who she describes as a "hot ginger", when he visited The X Factor and attended an after-show party in Simon Cowell's dressing room.

She wrote: "I walked in and the scene was mental. There were women partying everywhere and Simon was grinning like the Cheshire cat.

"Prince Harry was lying on the dressing room floor, with his top buttons undone, relaxing with a glass of wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other."
