Cheryl: Nicole meeting was awkward

Cheryl Cole is about to reunite with her Girls Aloud bandmates

Cheryl Cole has revealed her "embarrassing" first encounter with rival X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger, according to reports.

The star - who was replaced by the former Pussycat Doll on the judging panel of The X Factor USA last year - recalls the "awkward" first meeting in her autobiography Cheryl: My Story - when Nicole serenaded Cheryl with the Girls Aloud star's number one single.

The Daily Mirror said Cheryl wrote: "The first time I met Nicole was when she was performing on The X Factor in London.

"'Oh my God, Cheryl! You're just as pretty in real life! I heard your song on the radio!' she had gushed. It was really embarrassing.

"Then she started singing Promise This to me, and I swear to God the woman sang the whole song, to my face. It was just so awkward, and every time I stood next to her she started singing it again."

She added: "I thought how that would be like me going up to Britney and singing the whole of Baby, One More Time in her face. Can you imagine how weird that would be?"

Cheryl later met Nicole, who is now once again judging the UK X Factor, when she was a co-host on The X Factor USA, before Nicole replaced Cheryl on the judging panel.

Cheryl is quoted as saying: "Nicole was singing and dancing to her own songs, and I found that a bit crazy and odd."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
