Chicago cast reunite for Oscars
The cast of Chicago are set to be reunited to present at the Academy Awards this month.
The actresses will be joined by castmates Richard Gere and Queen Latifah for a special appearance at the glitzy ceremony, it was announced today. The musical movie enjoyed huge success when it was released in 2002, winning six Academy Awards including a best supporting actress prize for Catherine.
“We are very excited to reunite the stars of Chicago to present on the Oscars, on the 10th anniversary of the movie’s win for Best Picture,” show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron revealed.
Renée, Queen Latifah and John C. Reilly also received Oscar nominations for their performances in the comedy crime caper, while Rob Marshall landed a best director nod.
The Chicago cast are the latest in a long line of famous faces set to make an appearance at the Oscars on February 24.
Other presenters include Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeremy Renner. The 2011 Academy Award winners Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep will also feature in the ceremony.
Adele will perform her Oscar-nominated James Bond track Skyfall, while Dame Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones and Barbra Streisand will also take to the stage.
