Chris Brown ‘facing quick trial’
Chris Brown could be put on trial for assault this month.
The prosecutor in the case is using Chris’s probation violation to push for an earlier trial start date instead of a status conference, according to TMZ.
The 25-year-old singer was released from a Los Angeles jail around midnight on Monday after serving 108 days behind bars. He was incarcerated in March after breaking the rules of the rehab facility he was in and last month was ordered to spend an additional 131 days in jail after admitting to violating his probation stemming from his assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Now prosecutors claim that his probation violation admission means shows his guilt in the assault case and so means the trial date should be brought forward. Chris and his team are contesting this.
It’s been claimed that time inside has changed the star, who is taking his recovery seriously.
“Jail was one of those things that has humbled Chris and really just made him understand, point blank, that the world doesn’t revolve around him,” a source previously revealed to Hollywood Life.
Chris has been telling his advisors he is cleaning up his act for good, according to TMZ.
Apparently the star is cutting off people in his life he believes are a bad influence on him, especially those who partake in drugs and are connected to gangs.
The star is said to be concentrating on his music solely and it’s rumoured he told his record label bosses he will never screw up again.
In 2012, the singer also had an altercation with rapper Drake at a New York nightclub.
