Chris Evans' brother arrested in drug bust

Chris Evans

Chris Evans' actor brother has been arrested in a drug bust.

Former soap opera star Scott Evans was taken into custody on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles, TMZ reports.

The 29-year-old was allegedly trying to purchase narcotics from an undercover police officer.

An inmate sheet issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department shows he was arrested at 6:15pm.

Scott was booked and charged with attempt to possess a controlled substance - a felony.

He was released on $10,000 bail at approximately 12:30am the following morning.

It is unclear what drug the actor was attempting to purchase.

Scott is due in court on December 13 to face the charge.

He appeared to respond to the arrest on his Facebook page on Wednesday morning.

"Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested," reads a post on a page attributed to the actor.

Scott recently moved to Los Angeles from his native Sudbury, Massachusetts to pursue acting.

He is best known for his role in US television show One Life to Live from 2008 to 2010 and is currently filming forthcoming comedy Behaving Badly opposite Selena Gomez and Dylan McDermott.

His older brother Chris, 31, is known for his role as Captain America in the superhero film franchise.
