Chris Hemsworth gets dad Oscar from Elsa
Chris Hemsworth thinks friendship is the most important part of a marriage.
The 31-year-old Thor star and his partner Elsa Pataky, 38, have three children; two-year-old India and twins Sasha and Tristan, who are eight months. Although Elsa is in awe of the work her husband does on the big screen, it's their home life which really blows her mind.
"Chris has always said that being a friend of his partner is what matters most. Passion wanes with the years while friendship and trust can last forever. Nobody should be a better friend to your partner than you," she explained to British magazine Hello!
"I would give [an Oscar] to him for being a dad. Don't get me wrong - Chris is an incredible actor! But when it comes to family life, I would give it to him for being a father."
Many would think having three kids under the age of three would be a lot to handle, but Chris and Elsa aren't finding things too hard. They make sure they are there for each other and take it one day at a time, although they know things will probably get trickier once their sons are older.
"At the moment the twins are pretty easy but I can't begin to imagine what it's going to be like when they get bigger - sometimes just trying to convince India to get into the car turns into an odyssey!" Elsa laughed.
"Tristan and Sasha have very different personalities and they don't look at all alike... One is like Chris and the other is like me. Our daughter India also really takes after Chris, so at least one takes after me!"
The couple always knew they wanted a big family and Chris is completely hands on. The Sexiest Man Alive enjoys taking India to the beach so Elsa can have some time with the twins; but they make sure they are together a lot, too.
"He has to make the most of work opportunities because this is a great time for him. And I'm here to support him and follow him around because he needs us. He misses us a lot if we're not there," she said.
