Chris Hemsworth: Rush was turning point
Chris Hemsworth tried to take some of James Hunt's childlike nature with him after filming Rush.
The actor portrayed Formula One driver James Hunt in the drama, which co-starred Daniel Brühl as his racing rival Niki Lauda and Olivia Wilde as his wife Suzy.
When asked which of his own films he most likes to watch, the Thor star was quick to answer.
"Oh wow… you know, Rush is something that I just fell in love with. The characters and the true story of it all," he explained to Prestige magazine.
"It was a real turning point for me and the kind of work I was doing. What I learned also from that character – James Hunt – I took with me outside of that film. His sort of childlike nature in the sense of his making the most of everything and having fun and getting the most out of it was something I definitely took away from that."
Chris, 31, is now settled with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children India, Sasha and Tristan. However, he enjoyed an exciting childhood with his brothers Liam and Luke in areas of Australia including Arnhem Land and Phillip Island.
“I think it instilled a definite sense of adventure in me – changing environments and seeing new things, exploring places and characters and what have you," he smiled.
Chris has enjoyed a great deal of success since hitting the spotlight and was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2012. His brothers are also actors, with Liam best known for The Hunger Games and Luke appearing in projects including The Reckoning and Kill Me Three Times.
“It was just a lot of the right place, right time kind of thing coupled with working your ass off," Chris said of his career.
