Chris Martin on ‘music alchemy’

Chris Martin

Chris Martin says being a professional musician naturally boosts his endorphins.

The 37-year-old Coldplay singer announced his separation from wife Gwyneth Paltrow in March and soon after his band hit the road for a tour.

Chris is elated he’s putting on concerts right now, as he feels his work is healing.

“My job is so uplifting and that naturally is an endorphin.I am very lucky I have some good teachers and good people who have written some great things that make you able to alchemise,” he explained during an interview with Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2.

“Music, especially over the last couple of years has been very alchemising. I mean if you are going through something difficult in life or whatever and music for me is always a friend and something that helps me figure things out.”

Gwyneth is known for her commitment to living a healthy lifestyle, including avoiding meat.

But Chris says he’s moved on from vegetarianism since separating from the actress.

“I am not really vegetarian. I eat meat. I was vegetarian for a long time but for various reasons I changed,” he revealed.

“My daughter [Apple, 10] has been a vegetarian since she was born. I keep getting tempted to go back but I don’t eat too much meat.”

Chris went on to explain his entire philosophy has altered significantly now that he’s single again.

“The honest answer why I changed is because I thought you can only eat something that you should be able to kill,” he said.

“I don’t why I am talking about this. I have got to stop as there will be some sort of headline. I mean ‘Could you kill a fish?’ I would not like it but I probably could eat the fish...or a giraffe…”
