Chrissy Teigen: 'There's no better feeling than getting over postpartum depression'
Chrissy Teigen is excited for what life has to offer now she is through the other side of her postpartum depression battle.
Chrissy Teigen is "starting to feel like" herself again after battling postpartum depression following the birth of daughter Luna.
The 31-year-old model's child with singer John Legend turns one on Friday (14Apr17), with Chrissy first opening up about her struggles with depression last month (Mar17).
Now, in a new interview with Refinery29, Chrissy admits she is finally getting back on track, and is hoping this will help other women going through the same thing realise that there is hope.
"When I was in the midst of everything, I could never imagine myself on the other side of it. Now, I’m able to look at September, October, November, December, and shake my head at how dark and crazy of a period it was," she said. "Unfortunately, you can only really do that when you’re out of it. There’s no other way to explain it. And there’s no better feeling than being out of it.
“You have your good and bad days. I just had a bad day a couple days ago. But the bad days do not outweigh the good days anymore. Just when you think it’s really, really bad, it’s going to get better. So hopefully, if you’re going through something tough you can find some peace in knowing that."
Chrissy is looking forward to what she's got in the pipeline, which will see her and Luna join John on his upcoming Darkness and Light Tour, along with several other ventures. She previously had success with cookbook Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat, and told the outlet she has been excited to get back in the kitchen in recent weeks to continue work on a follow-up offering.
"I just started working on the cookbook again yesterday," she said.
“I’m really starting to feel like myself again. I’m going to try to knock out a bunch of recipes, go on tour with John and Luna, live on this tour bus and then come back, do a few more recipes, shoot the cookbook and then have it out for everybody by the beginning of next year."
