Christian Slater shocked by Kardashian frenzy

Christian Slater

Christian Slater thought cameramen were hounding him recently - then realised they were actually tailing the Kardashians.

The Hollywood icon understands why people are interested in the lives of actors but is less sure about reality TV stars. He recently took a trip to a drugstore to pick up some painkillers and was astonished to witness the scrum around the famous family, although he didn't confirm whether it was Kim, Kourtney or Khloé.

"I thought they followed me because I tweeted about the elections and was receiving a ton of criticism, but then I looked and realised that the Kardashians had just pulled up next to me - they weren't interested in me at all," Christian is quoted as saying by New York Post.

The 43-year-old star was speaking at the Art Basel event in Miami, where Adrian Grenier's documentary Teenage Paparazzo was screened. The film is about the way society views celebrity and Christian took part in a panel discussion alongside Adrian and photographer Seth Browarnik.

The group talked about how social media and paparazzi have impacted celebrities when Christian made his remarks.

The star seemed astounded that people would be more interested in the goings on of the famous reality TV family than his Twitter comments about the recent US presidential election.

Christian was incensed when he had to queue for hours to vote, only to be told his ballot hadn't counted due to a discrepancy with his signature.

He called the situation "frustrating"- especially when the letter telling him about the problem was addressed to a 'Christina Slater'.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
