Christina Aguilera had a blast with her closest friends at her surprise bash on Saturday.

The Beautiful singer celebrated her 32nd birthday on Tuesday.

Over the weekend Christina went out Christmas shopping and while she was away her boyfriend Matt Rutler quickly went to task setting up her party with 20 of the star's close friends.

Christina came home to a gorgeous pink, black and white two-tiered cake from Vanilla Bakeshop in Beverly Hills and several smiling faces.

"There were tons of balloons throughout the house," a source told Us Weekly magazine.

"Christina was completely surprised. She was very happy."

The guests sang a loving rendition of the Happy Birthday song when she walked through the door.

Partygoers such as Blake Shelton and Nicole Richie enjoyed macaroni and cheese, chili dogs, deviled eggs and a host of other finger foods while they partied and chatted.

"Everyone was very friendly and got along well," the source said.

"They had a great time."
