Christina Applegate and her fiancé have allegedly been receiving threatening messages via Twitter.
The Los Angeles Police Department is believed to have launched an investigation after the actress' musician partner Martyn LeNoble was the victim of abusive tweets on September 20.
According to TMZ, a mystery user of the social networking site threatened to "blow your f**king head off!" and accused Martyn of "stealing" the actress away.
"If not for you she would be mine…I will not accept this. I am going to kill you!!!!!!!!! (sic)" read one message, while another warned Martyn to "be very afraid".
Police reportedly served the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco with a search warrant six days after the messages were posted. However, officers are believed to be having difficulty tracking down the person responsible for the threats.
Martyn reportedly told police he doesn't know who owns the Twitter account from which the messages were sent. The profile is now believed to have been deleted.
Christina began dating Martyn in 2008 and they became engaged in February 2010. The 40-year-old actress gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter called Sadie Grace, in January 2011.
