Christina Ricci: Fiancé is a threat

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci loves referring to her husband-to-be James Heerdegen as her fiancé because people take their relationship more seriously.

The 33-year-old actress announced her plans to marry James Heerdegen in February.

The couple met working on US television drama Pan Am in 2011, when James was a member of the crew.

Christina recently admitted she's in no rush to walk down the aisle.

But she's glad she no longer has to call James her boyfriend so that people don't think their relationship is infantile.

"People take you so much more seriously once you start throwing around that word," she told America's People magazine.

The actress can't wait until they're man and wife. She expects referring to James as her husband will give her an even bigger boost.

"I can't wait for 'husband' because then I can really throw my weight around," she mused.

"'My husband's going to come down here and talk to you!' That's a huge threat."

Christina is currently planning the nuptials.

She recently vowed not to become a bridezilla, and admitted doing so meant she had to let her inner control freak go.

"I just want everyone to have a nice time and to feel happy," she told Net-a-Porter earlier this month.

"I could have easily gone the other way, where I was controlling every detail, but it's so unpleasant to be like that. If the flowers aren't exactly the right shade, then so be it."
