Clooney’s fiancée ‘turned down date’
George Clooney was reportedly turned down three times before his fiancée agreed to date him.
The Hollywood actor apparently had a hard time convincing his now-fiancée Amal Alamuddin to date him. The Human Rights lawyer turned him down three times before agreeing to their first date, it has been claimed.
“She was engaging in the conversation after the introduction was made, and then did the unthinkable,” a source tells Radar Online. “Amal walked away from the group George was with! He was instantly more intrigued by her. George then inserted himself into another group Amal was talking with. She just wasn’t impressed by the Hollywood actor persona.”
Despite George’s persistence, Amal played hard to catch during their first meeting. The British beauty refused to give him her contact details.
“George asked for her phone number at the end of the night, and she refused to give it to him!” the source added. “Again, another first.”
Despite being in the media spotlight, Amal has allegedly made it clear to George that she has her “own life”. The 36-year-old future Mrs. George Clooney plans to run her own career without the help of the Hollywood star.
“In the past, the ladies he has dated have requested George’s help in getting acting roles, securing hosting gigs, getting new agents,” the source explains. “Amal has made it clear she intends to not give up her career. She will be based in London and Los Angeles. George has never been with a woman like her, and this is going to go the distance.”
George and Amal have not made any official statements on their engagement, although his mother has spoken of her excitement about it.
