Cole to ‘shake up’ X Factor
Cheryl Cole will “make some big changes” on the X Factor.
The singer confirmed this week that she would be returning as a judge on the singing competition after three years away.
Cheryl will reportedly be getting £1.5million deal for the season, and is already suggesting ways in which the show could become more interesting to viewers.
According to UK newspaper The Sun, the 30-year-old told head honcho Simon Cowell to get rid of each judge having one category for the live TV rounds - boys, girls, overs 25’s and groups. Instead, the former Girls Aloud star believes each judge should pick a contestant from each category, so the team will be made of boy, one girl, one over-25 and one group.
Simon is reportedly in favour of the idea, calling it “surprisingly good”.
“Cheryl has been very vocal about ideas and changes that could liven things up,” an insider told the outlet.
“It’s far too early to say what if any changes might be made. All aspects of format are being looked at to make the best show possible,” added another source.
Aside from her X Factor duties, Cheryl is concentrating on her new album. The pop star has made it clear that although she is thrilled to be returning to the hit singing show, she won’t let it distract her from her music.
“I just took this time and partied and have just been me and normal for the past six months,” Cheryl told UK newspaper The Mirror. “Then I started recording the new album and that's almost done. There's no delay on the album. I've got things in the pipeline."
