Cole's '£2 million X Factor deal'
Cheryl Cole has landed a £2 million deal to return as a judge on the next series of The X Factor, according to reports.
The Daily Star said that singer Cheryl was the only name to have worked out a contract with Simon Cowell for the forthcoming show.
Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne both stepped down from their judging roles at the end of the last series.
Louis Walsh said he planned to leave, but was later reported to have had a change of heart after hearing that Simon Cowell could return.
Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is said to have not been completely ruled out for the next series.
An insider was quoted as saying: "All this talk of Nicole's deal is premature. The only judge in talks is Cheryl.
"Talks have been going on for weeks and Simon has been doing everything to persuade her. Finally she has agreed.
"Simon believed Cheryl's return was the key to his new ideas for the show."
Cheryl quit in 2011 for the US version but was axed following concerns that US audiences would not understand her Geordie accent.
