Collings shocked at new BGT fame
Britain's Got Talent hopeful Michael Collings has said he is still speechless over the standing ovation he received during his first appearance on the show.
The 19-year-old was seen impressing the talent contest's judges and the audience with his version of the Tracy Chapman hit Fast Car on Saturday night's show.
He told ITV's Daybreak: "In a way I can't really explain it because obviously I wasn't expecting the crowd response. I was expecting a sort of crowd response, but obviously it was amazing to get that sort of response with the standing ovation and the cheering and things like that.
"I just wasn't expecting it so it was just a shock to my system."
Judges Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff were unsure what to expect when the apprentice IT engineer arrived on stage looking scruffy and told them he lived in a caravan park in Plymouth.
But Michael - who has an eight-week-old baby Jamie with his fiancee Sarah - managed to win them over with his performance.
Asked if he is ready to deal with his new-found fame, the teenager revealed: "I'm prepared for obviously what's to come, but I'm going to take it day by day and as it comes, so hopefully it will work out fine."
He added: "It's been an amazing experience, it's just amazing - I'm speechless to be honest."
