ComicFest returns to Enniskillen

By Staff Reporter

The writers and artists behind the biggest names in British comic history are set to draw huge crowds of fans to Fermanagh.

After last year's successful launch, the Enniskillen ComicFest returns today and tomorrow to celebrate all aspects of the art.

Guests of honour include John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra - the creators of 2000AD's Judge Dredd.

For younger fans, Nigel Parkinson - who draws Dennis The Menace and Minnie The Minx for the Beano - will also be making an appearance.

Steve MacManus, legendary editor of 2000AD, and Marvel and DC artist Yanick Paquette will also be present.

ComicFest will be celebrating 40 years of 2000AD, Britain's best-known sci-fi comic, in the Ardhowen Theatre tonight, where all guest creators will be interviewed and video material screened.

The main event is taking place on Saturday at Enniskillen Castle. It will run from 10am-6pm and is free - no ticket is required.
