Connie Britton: Motherhood is hard

Connie Britton doesn't think it's fair for actresses to claim they have it harder than any other mom as all parents get pulled in different directions.

The 47-year-old star's comments come after Gwyneth Paltrow claimed her life is more chaotic than someone who works in an office during an interview earlier this year.

While Gwyneth didn't suggest she does a better job at raising her two kids, her view that office workers can more easily fit day-to-day tasks into their routine didn't go down well.

"Our hours are long, but I would never compare what I do to what anyone else does," Connie revealed to Redbook magazine. "Everybody's working hard and doing the best they can - if you're a mom, there's that pressure, we all face it.

"I'm constantly being pulled in different directions. But that's the thing: moms are pulled and distracted. I would never say that's worse for me because I'm an actor. I am actually 100 per cent sure all moms feel that way."

Connie wows on the cover of the October issue of the publication, wearing a denim shirt tucked into a gold honeycombed pattern skirt.

In the accompanying article she talks openly about wanting to find love, especially so her young adopted son Eyob, three, can have a male presence in his life.

"I would love to be doing this with a partner, and I want Eyob to have a father figure. But I also know that putting that kind of pressure on myself or on a relationship would be disastrous.

"It's funny - my married friends tell me all the time, ‘What you have is so much easier.' When you're doing it on your own, you don't have to [argue over] how you're raising the kids,'" she laughed.
