Bradley Cooper has joked that he and Ryan Gosling competed over who was the sexiest when they worked together.
The Hangover star was crowned People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2011, despite an internet campaign backing Ryan to win. The pair starred together in crime drama The Place Beyond The Pines, released earlier this year.
Bradley told more! magazine: "It was treacherous. We had Sexiest Man Alive matches every lunchtime. Who walked most sexily, who ate lunch most sexily, who opened doors most sexily. He won every time."
The Silver Linings Playbook star revealed he at first thought it was a joke when he was named Sexiest Man Alive, and even considered turning down the honour.
Bradley joked: "Every time somebody mentions it to me, I record them and play the conversation back when I get up in the morning just to remind myself."
He added: "No, I don't really think about it much because it's nothing to do with me, it's just a thing that's here one minute, gone the next. And it's not like I walk down the street and people yell at me, 'Here comes Sexiest Man Alive!'"
Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum was recently unveiled as the Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.
