Corden: My globes were on show!
James Corden didn’t have a stress-free time ahead of hitting the Golden Globes red carpet.
The Into the Woods actor joined his co-stars on the red carpet for the annual awards ceremony on Sunday night. But while celebrity males usually have an easier time than the ladies in terms of getting ready, it wasn’t the case for James, who ended up naked with a bucket in his hands, covering his crown jewels.
“Water started dripping down and through a smoke alarm, so whilst I was getting ready the smoke alarm's going, I had to ring the guy. I don't even know if he's gone to fix it, I'm gonna call him in a minute," he told People magazine of his shower gone wrong. "So that was the sort of glamorous, that was how I got ready for the Golden Globes."
As well as his starring role in Into the Woods alongside Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep, the 36-year-old will be taking over from Craig Ferguson as host of CBS's The Late Late Show in March. And while he and his family, including wife Julia Carey and their two children, relocate to Los Angeles, it was revealed that the star would be renting out his London home for £15,000 a month while he is away on top of the £650,000 relocation fee he will receive from the network.
“James might be raking in a huge sum for the new job, but he’s not daft and knows he can net a tidy sum from his home,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror. “It makes sense to rent the place out rather than leave it sitting empty – plus, having a lodger ensures there will be no risk of squatters. James is still convinced his stint on US TV will be a disaster so he wants to keep his London home available in case he needs to make a swift return.”
