Corrie Kym's baby arrives early
Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has given birth to her baby girl.
Polly arrived around seven weeks early, weighing 4lb 1oz, following a natural birth at a Manchester hospital.
The actress, 34, who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV soap, was with her fiance, Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, 30.
A spokeswoman said: "Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl, Polly Lomas.
"Polly was born on Wednesday evening weighing 4lb 1oz. Mum and baby are doing well."
Kym, who already has two children - Emily, 13, and David, 15 - from a previous relationship, took early maternity leave from the soap.
The actress was devastated when her baby son Archie died when he was born 18 weeks early in 2009.
Kym and Jamie met on a train to a TV awards ceremony in London in 2007, and got together after her marriage to EastEnders actor Jack Ryder ended.
She has said of the pregnancy: "It's been really difficult. I have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, which is when your cervix is too weak to stay closed during pregnancy due to the extra weight of the baby. It can cause premature birth or late miscarriage.
"This time around I was a high-risk patient and I've been monitored closely."
