Corrie star Samia Ghadie and partner Sylvain Longchambon welcome baby boy

Coronation Street's Samia Ghadie has given birth to a baby boy.

The actress, who plays Maria Connor in the soap, confirmed the arrival of Yves Joseph Longchambon on Twitter.

It is the first baby for Ghadie and her fiance, Dancing On Ice's Sylvain Longchambon. She has a daughter from a previous marriage.

She wrote on Twitter: "@slongchambon and I are so happy and in love beyond words with our beautiful boy."

A host of celebrities including Ghadie's former Corrie co-star Helen Flanagan congratulated the couple.

Flanagan wrote: "@realsamia delighted to hear to birth of Yves darling absolutely love the name. well done so happy for you." (sic)

Suzanne Shaw also congratulated the couple, tweeting: "So happy for you both! Big love to you all xxx."

Skater and model Matt Evers, pro skater Vicky Ogden and Corrie's Catherine Tyldesley also sent the couple messages.

Ghadie and Longchambon met on Dancing On Ice in 2013 when they were partnered together.

Longchambon previously dated Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, who was also partnered with him on Dancing On Ice at one stage.
