Cosby's Hollywood star vandalised

Bill Cosby's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been vandalised with graffiti.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said in a statement that clean-up work was under way on the Los Angeles attraction.

Houston television station KRIV Fox 26 posted a photo it said it received from a viewer with the word "Rapist" scrawled three times on Cosby's star.

The comedian's star was placed on the Walk of Fame, a California state landmark, in 1977.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce wrote in its statement that it hoped people upset with Cosby would find different ways to express themselves rather than vandalism.

Cosby has been accused by more than a dozen women of drugging them and sexual abuse, but he has never been charged with a crime.
