Courteney Cox: My daughter is so creative

Courteney Cox's daughter wanted to dress as a "baby-old-man-detective" for Halloween.

The Friends star raises eight-year-old Coco with her estranged husband David Arquette.

The little girl enjoys dressing up to celebrate the spooky holiday and always astounds Courteney with her costume ideas.

"This Halloween she's going to be a half angel-half devil. But at one point she wanted to be a baby-old-man-detective and she had this whole outfit planned out," Courteney told People magazine.

"She had a bib, she had a moustache, glasses, a pacifier, and I was like, 'That's very David, isn't it?' To just come up and be that creative. I see a lot of both of us in Coco, for sure. She's very, very split down the middle between the two of us, and Coco is really, really, really creative."

However, Coco decided against the slightly unusual costume, settling on the angel-and-devil ensemble instead.

Courteney says the outfit choice perfectly reflects her daughter's cheeky character.

"She is half devil and half angel, so I thought [the costume] was just typecasting for her," she joked.

"She just really has a big heart, and she's eight, not mischievous, but she's bold."

Just like Coco, the Cougar Town star has got into the spirit of Halloween with elaborate costumes in the past.

But whereas the dressing up element of October 31 is something they both enjoy, Coco isn't quite so keen on collecting candy.

"Last year we... went trick-or-treating. We finally got to the street that we like to trick-or-treat on and within about five houses she was like, 'Alright, I'm done. I'm fine.' It's not so funny, but that is fantastic," Courteney laughed.
