Courteney Cox's 'husband worries'

Courteney Cox is reportedly unsure whether her new beau is really just a "good friend".

The 49-year-old actress is dating musician Johnny McDaid from the band Snow Patrol. There have been whispers the pair are ready to wed, but it seems the Friends star wants to be sure before taking such a big step.

"The truth is she wants to take things slow until she's sure he's husband material and not just a good friend," an insider told National Enquirer.

Courteney has previously dated rock promoter Ian Copeland and Counting Crows star Adam Duritz. It appears her past romances could be one of the reasons she is concerned about being with Johnny, 37, for the long haul.

"Courteney has dated musicians in the past and it hasn't worked out," the source said. "Johnny's a lot younger than her and he's going to spend months on the road touring. That can be a difficult life for a couple."

The actress has nine-year-old daughter Coco with her ex-husband David Arquette, who is another consideration. Courteney is apparently wary of rushing into anything which might upset her little girl.

On top of this, the actress has previously admitted having mixed feelings about her divorce. She and David married in 1999 but split in 2010, with their divorce finalised in May 2013.

"When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it's not with you," Courteney told US magazine More in January.

"In divorce you always have regrets. We were married for a long time, so it's not like we didn't try.

"Obviously, kids always want their parents to be together. But as divorces go, this is the best one we could provide."
