Cowell’s baby tricks
Simon Cowell says David Walliams is helping him “teach baby Eric to be cheeky”.
The media mogul and partner Lauren Silverman welcomed their first child together in February.
According to Simon, British comedian David Walliams has been giving him funny tips about how children copy their parents.
“I am teaching him how to stick his tongue out at the moment,” he told UK newspaper The Mirror. “Someone told me, it was David actually, that they will copy anything you do, so I sit there for hours just sticking my tongue out and he has actually learnt to stick his tongue out back at me now.”
Simon’s joy in fatherhood is something he has talked about at length since little Eric was born.
According to the 54-year-old, fatherhood has finally made him settle down and appreciate family life.
"You can start to live a slightly abnormal life and there is no question of doubt I was heading down that path," he said. "Too many late-night phone calls. Too obsessed with things. Maybe because it puts things in perspective having two people in my life who I am responsible for.”
Simon explains that his life is now noisy, with people constantly coming and going. Although it is completely new to him, the X Factor chief couldn’t be happier.
“There were times last year when I would live in two rooms, y'know kitchen and bedroom, in your house,” he said. “It is a weird existence when you live on your own. On the phone all night, blah blah blah. Now the house is full of people. It has become a home rather than a house.”
