Craig Revel Horwood warns ‘nasty’ Bruno

Craig Revel Horwood fears his fellow Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli is getting too nasty, and encroaching on his “turf”.

Craig Revel Horwood has warned his fellow Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli to clean up his act.

Dancer-and-choreographer Craig is renowned for delivering cutting criticism to the celebrity contestants taking part in BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. However, in the current season Bruno has also been harsh in his judgement of the stars and landed himself in hot water after using foul language live on air. Craig isn’t comfortable with Bruno’s behaviour and wants him to remember his place on the panel.

“Bruno is definitely becoming nastier,” he told Woman magazine. “That’s my turf! Perhaps I need to have a few words with him. I think it’s because he’s the tough judge in the States and that character is crossing over the pond.

“He needs to be careful he doesn’t get too carried away and slip up again with a swear word, though.”

Bruno raised eyebrows last month (Oct15), when he became so excited by contestant Jay McGuiness’ paso doble that he dubbed it the “bulls b**locks”, with presenter Tess Daly hastily stepping in to apologise to viewers.

It seems Italian-born Bruno is no stranger to swearing, with Craig claiming he is often overheard using colourful language behind the scenes. However, Craig says this cannot be tolerated during the shows because of the audience watching at home.

“It’s drummed into us that Strictly is a family show and bad language is not tolerated,” he revealed. “But to be honest, Bruno swears like a trooper backstage so it could have been so much worse!”

TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher and her professional partner Brendan Cole were the latest pairing to leave the show at the weekend (31Oct-01Nov15).

Although Brendan is no longer competing in the series, he is determined to return next year with a new partner.

“Brendan will be there until they push him out the door!” his wife Zoe joked to Britain’s OK! magazine.

The dancer is often referred to as a ‘bad boy of Strictly’ and has clashed with judges including Craig and Bruno in the past. Although he often feels frustrated by their feedback, Brendan has nothing but respect for the panel, which also includes Len Goodman and Darcey Bussell.

“They all p**s me off from time to time but I have a lot of respect for them and think they’re brilliant at what they do,” he said.
