Crawford: I'd love West End role

Chace Crawford would love to star on the West End stage

Chace Crawford has said he is keen to tread the boards in London.

The Gossip Girl heartthrob, who stars in new film What To Expect When You're Expecting, revealed he has had meetings with West End theatre bosses about making a stage appearance.

"I've actually visited a bunch of theatres and talked to some people. I would absolutely love to do it," he said.

"It doesn't get any greater than getting up on stage in front of a live audience and putting yourself out there every night."

Chace and the rest of the Gossip Girl crew are contracted for six years, so he will be returning to the hit TV series next year "for an undefined amount of episodes just to wrap things up".

Ideally, he would then like to make more feature films because he hasn't had the "fortune to do a ton of movies yet".

"That's why I'm trying to cross over and do more film work and do some stuff where I really get to stretch out and challenge myself," he added.

"I'm not really in a commanding position to be picking out every single role I like, so you take what you can get and hope you take the ones that challenge you."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
