Tom Cruise has finally spoken out following his split from Katie Holmes, telling reporters "I'm good".

The Hollywood heavyweight has maintained his silence since Katie filed for divorce last month, but this weekend the 50-year-old answered snappers when they asked how he was doing as he was spotted leaving Taverna Tony restaurant in Malibu.

The Mission Impossible star, who had apparently been dining with a friend, simply said he was "good" but didn't answer when he was quizzed about what was next for him, quickly making his way to his car.

Meanwhile, former Dawson's Creek star Katie and the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri were all smiles as they fed giraffes at the Bronx Zoo at the weekend.

It has been reported that Katie, 33, cancelled her first public appearance since the break-up.

She was due to walk the red carpet on Saturday at an event for her Dizzy Feet Foundation - which promotes dance education throughout the US - but apparently called it off for security reasons.

A source told Celebuzz: "Katie was really excited about attending the event, but in the end, her security team had concerns about the situation, especially the daytime event given it was being held in a public park."

Gemini:

You are being overly critical of your best friend or romantic partner. Even if you think their plans are ill founded, you should keep such thoughts to yourself. Undermining a person's enthusiasm will only create resentment. If you're tired of being implicated in your loved one's harebrained schemes, have a heart to heart discussion. A temporary separation can help each of you figure out what you want from your relationship. It may be time for you to seek a more practical companion.More
