Culkin makes light of death hoax

Macaulay Culkin has laughed off a hoax about his death.

Reports about the Home Alone star's so-called demise spread on Twitter and social media following the false claim.

But the musician and former child star, 34, has reminded people that he is alive, with a jokey post on Instagram.

He parodied a scene from the 1989 movie Weekend At Bernie's on the page of The Pizza Underground, his Velvet Underground tribute group, E! News reported.

"Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom," the post read.

The film is about two people working in insurance who pretend that their murdered employer is really alive.

"We're on tour you silly people," Culkin added alongside another pic.
