Cumberbatch ‘dating’ Sophie Hunter
Benedict Cumberbatch has been in a relationship with Sophie Hunter for weeks, it is claimed.
The Sherlock actor, who dated actress Olivia Poulet for 12 years and then was romantically linked to Anna James from 2011 to 2012, has repeatedly been spotted with a new woman during the summer, leaving fans to speculate over the star’s love life.
Now it appears the 38-year-old has been involved in a relationship with theatre director Sophie Hunter for “a number of weeks”, the British newspaper the Daily Mirror reports.
“Watch this space. You never know,” Sophie’s mother Anna told the publication about the relationship.
The reported couple appeared together in the 2009 film Burlesque Fairytales.
Though notoriously private, Benedict opened up in the September 2013 issue of Elle Japan, revealing what he found sexy in a partner.
"A woman who knows that she doesn’t have to get all decked out to look good is sexy. A woman who can make you feel smart with her conversation skills is also sexy. I believe the sense of humour is important," he told the publication, via Yahoo!
"I also think someone who is good at working with others is sexy. It’s like playing a tennis doubles match. You need to be able to work well together if you are to stay as partners for a long time."
Benedict’s film The Imitation Game, in which he portrays Alan Turing who was an openly gay British mathematician who is credited with ending World War II after cracking the Nazi’s nearly indecipherable military code, will be released in the US and UK in November. Keira Knightley co-stars in the movie.
