Curtain falls on Girls Aloud Cheryl's second marriage
Singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (33) sought a divorce from French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after complaining that his unreasonable behaviour had caused her stress and weight loss, court papers show.
A family court judge yesterday drew the couple's marriage to a close.
Judge Heather MacGregor granted a decree nisi - after concluding that the marriage had "broken down irretrievably" - at a 14-second hearing in the Central Family Court in London.
Neither the singer nor her second husband were at the hearing.
Divorce papers showed the singer had petitioned for divorce.
She said the cause of the breakdown was her husband's "unreasonable behaviour".
The singer said his behaviour had affected her health and added: "It caused stress and weight loss".
Fernandez-Versini, who found fame with the band Girls Aloud and who is a former judge on the X Factor television show, married Mr Fernandez-Versini two years ago.
Her previous marriage to footballer Ashley Cole ended in divorce after four years in 2010.
