Daley named inspiration in sport

Splash! star Tom Daley along with Lily Cole and Tinie Tempah have been named as big inspirations to UK teenagers

Olympic medallist and Splash! mentor Tom Daley, rapper Tinie Tempah, and model Lily Cole are among the figures named as the biggest inspirations to UK teenagers.

They topped a poll organised by the National Citizen Service (NCS) to coincide with a free gig to celebrate the achievements of young people.

Tom, 19, who picked up a diving bronze at London 2012, was named the inspiration in sport, just months after coming out as gay. Lily, who is also an actress, a Cambridge graduate and the founder of a website which encourages people to help others for free, topped the poll as the most inspiring digital innovator.

Tinie was named the inspiration in fashion, while Nina Nesbitt - who headlined the NCS Yes Live event at London's Brixton Academy - was the inspiration in music.

NCS aims to increase the confidence, teamwork and leadership skills of young people with 70,000 to date taking part in social action and volunteer schemes in their communities.

In a prerecorded message Tom said: "It's amazing to be part of all the amazing effort you are putting in, so keep up the good work."

Taking a nap, solitary walk or hot bath will revive your spirits. Get into the habit of spending more money on creature comforts. Treat such as gourmet food, beautiful clothes and intriguing books are investments in your happiness.
