Daniel Radcliffe opens on Broadway
Daniel Radcliffe has tackled his first Broadway musical, playing a rascal businessman who manipulates his way to the top of a bloated corporation.
The Harry Potter star plays the lovable go-getter J Pierrepont Finch in a revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, which follows the unlikely rise of a window washer to the chairman of the board.
Daniel has plenty of help on stage from a very funny and smooth John Larroquette as his boss J B Biggley, Christopher J Hanke as his scheming rival Bud Frump, and Rose Hemingway as his romantic interest Rosemary Pilkington.
Critics said Daniel's voice was nice, but thin and he strained to fill the theatre, but that was made up for by the fact he worked so hard on stage.
The production celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical and it is only the third time it has made it to Broadway. The last time, Matthew Broderick played Finch.
