Danny Dyer uses lines from scripts to woo Joanne
TV star Danny Dyer will craftily "borrow" song lyrics when he needs to impress his girlfriend.
EastEnders star Danny Dyer uses lines from scripts to woo his long-time partner Joanne Mas.
The pair have been dating since 1993 and have three children together - daughters Dani and Sunnie and son Arty. They've had their fair share of ups and downs but it's nothing Danny doesn't know how to deal with - as long as he has some good material to hand.
“When you’ve got kids your relationship revolves around the children, so you start thinking, ‘When was the last time we properly kissed each other? You know, full-on?’" he candidly told Britain's newspaper The Sun.
“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’ve done jobs where I’ve had my lines written for me by the best writers in the world, and I sometimes do use those, particularly if I’ve had a row with the missus, in a wooing-back kind of way."
The actor is realistic when it comes to love and knows that every long-term partnership will require some work. He calls a temporary split from Joanne the "worst time of his life" and a period when he went into self-destruct mode. Now things are in a good place and cheeky Danny doesn't stop at using scripts to come up with romantic lines.
“Sometimes I can be quite distant from my missus. Maybe we haven’t been physical in a while and I’ll say stuff like, ‘Your potential kiss has got my mind and body aching,'" he grinned.
“Now that’s a line from the song Unfinished Sympathy, by Massive Attack. It’s a beautiful little line and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using it because I’ve heard it and it makes me think of Jo. All right, you might think it’s a bit naughty because I’m making out it’s come from my nut. But it has a truth about it.”
