David Beckham ‘encourages Victoria to relax’

David Beckham

David Beckham apparently wanted his busy fashion designer wife Victoria to have some “down time” with their family when they spent time together in France recently.

The singer-turned-fashion designer enjoyed a four-day trip to see her soccer star husband in the French capital city last week. Victoria was accompanied by her four children and David was keen to ensure the short holiday was relaxing for the busy star.

“David knows how hard Victoria was working during Fashion Week and what a toll all the late nights took on her,” a source told British magazine Closer. “She was left exhausted, especially after all the hassle that came with recently moving the family from LA to London. As soon as she got to Paris, he wanted her to enjoy some down time. Despite their hectic careers, they always ensure they spend time together as a family.”

David is currently based in Paris after signing for soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, while Victoria and the kids are living in London.

The star has been hitting the headlines recently for his match appearances, as well as his revealing H&M underwear campaign. On Thursday night he was asked on a live French TV show if he used a body double for the advert, which showed him running around in just his underwear.

“No I can say the crotch is mine and the backside is mine as well,” he told Grande Journal. “I heard this the other day. Someone said that I had a stand-in for my bum, but no, I can confirm that's my bum.”

Since David and Victoria left the US late last year, Victoria has loved catching up with family and friends in the UK. Despite her hectic schedule, the 38-year-old star has apparently taken on another project – playing matchmaker for her sister-in-law.

David’s younger sister Jo is reportedly eager to find the right man and start a family, so Victoria has offered to help with her love search.

“Jo has said she wants to settle down. Victoria knows how much she wants kids and that she has a tough time trusting men, so she wants to help her. Victoria thinks an American guy would be good for Jo, but Jo’s been telling her: ‘I don’t want some posh bloke!’ She knows what guys Jo goes for, though,” a source explained to Closer.

Although David wants to see his sister settled and happy, he isn’t sure about her dating a fellow soccer star. Apparently the 37-year-old hunk is hoping Jo will find a boyfriend with a lower profile.

“Jo says David and Victoria are keen for her to find love, but David’s not keen on another footballer,” a source revealed. “He doesn’t want her to be the topic of changing-room conversation!”
