David Beckham 'sparks movie buzz'
David Beckham has reportedly already received offers of walk-on parts in movies.
The soccer star announced his retirement from the sport earlier this year and it was recently claimed he could be gearing up for a film career.
His wife Victoria is apparently determined to see her spouse on the big screen and used a recent trip to the US to kick things off.
"Vic was in LA... to have meetings with key Hollywood players about David's film offers," an insider told Heat magazine. "People like Clint Eastwood have put big-money offers on the table for David to appear in films - not lead roles, but walk-on parts."
David is also said to be excited by the idea of having a new career. He struck up a solid friendship with Tom Cruise while he lived in Los Angeles and has turned to his pal for support.
"Tom has already put him in touch with a string of producers and directors, as well as giving him advice," a source added. "He also suggested he hire an acting coach. Tom studied the Meisner technique, which is a type of acting training built on specific exercises. He's already found David a coach from LA's Meisner Center."
David has taken things a step further by thinking about his dream movie role. He would love to transform his life story into a picture and has been working hard on the script behind the scenes, with claims it is almost ready to be pitched to studios.
"Victoria would love David to appear in something for Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B," a source added.
The 38-year-old star already has the backing of some in the industry, with Harvey Weinstein adamant he has what it takes.
"David can be anything he wants, including becoming a movie star. I am a real fan. I think he could do anything he wants in TV and film," he explained.
